Research

The products at PetroBio Tech are the result of extensive scientific research.

When PetroBio Tech was spun-out of the Foundation we maintaine the philosophy of the mother organization, viz., all claims made for products must be documented by research. This applied to our fuel additives. Therefore, we purchased emissions and opacity testing equipment to determine the reduction in emissions from gasoline and diesel engines. In addition, we installed a dynamometer in our facilities to test the increase in mileage in cars and small trucks. We also obtained access to a dynamometer that can accommodate very large trucks.

On-road testing as well as controlled dynamometer laboratory testing are part of the continuous development of the Empruv line of fuel additives. Note: The use of 10% ethanol resulted in a 8.9% reduction in mpg in cars and a 20.6% reduction in mpg in trucks when compared to using regular non-ethanol treated gasoline.

Note: Because the consumption of ethanol produces low amounts of hydrocarbons compared to fossil fuels a small increase in hydrocarbon production is seen with the use of EX2PLUS. Consumption of ethanol produces higher amounts of NOx than fossil fuels, however, and the reduction seen with the use of EX2PLUS is significant.
